Clara Mae Hoots Johnson of Edneyville reunited with her loving husband Jody in Heaven on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Josiah (Jody) Johnson III; mother, Lillian Enloe Hoots; father, Reginald Hoots; sister, Betty Jean Lamb and her husband, Jerry; brother, Vance Hoots and his wife, Jewel; and one grandchild.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her life. Her joy was in serving others. She had a special gift of hospitality.
Clara is survived by three children, Josiah (Diane) Johnson IV of Mount Vernon, Georgia, Susanne (Rocky) Holbert of Dana, and Gary R. Johnson of Edneyville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clara was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Shaw’s Creek Campground Cemetery on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Brian Melton will officiate.

We loved this sweet lady and she was a very special woman. We loved visiting with her. She was always so gracious. She will surely be missed. So sorry for your loss.
