William Thomas "Tommy" Ridenour

May 29, 1938 - August 27, 2017

William T. “Tommy” Ridenour. 79, of Etowah passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Elizabeth House. A native of Caryville, TN, Tommy was a resident of Western North Carolina since 1963. He was a son of the late Ernest and Velda Patty Ridenour. He retired from Kearfott Guidance and Navigation in Black Mountain in 2000. Tommy was a member of Black Mountain Masonic Lodge #633, and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He was an Army veteran stationed in Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and was a member of the Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77. He was on the Board of Directors with the Etowah-Horse Shoe Fire Department. Tommy was a member of Etowah Baptist Church and his favorite pastime was playing golf.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Narcia Ridenour; a son, Michael Ridenour and his wife Michelle of Etowah; two grandsons, Matthew and Micah; two brothers, David Ridenour and his wife Joyce, Don Ridenour and his wife Janie, sister-in-law, Jenny Ridenour; four sisters, Christine Cox and her husband Harold, Pauline Lawson and her husband J. Tom, Nancy Robinson, Patricia Rice and her husband James; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Etowah Baptist Church. Dr. Brian Henderson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm in the church prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
