Margaret Hodges Tate, 83, of Hendersonville went to sleep in Jesus Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Elizabeth House after an extended illness. A native of Banner Elk, Margaret lived in Henderson County since 1995. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Rosa Horney Hodges and the wife of the late Herbert F. Tate who died in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her son, Clifton W. Tate.
Margaret retired from Park Ridge Hospital in 2007 following twelve years of service as a nurse anesthetist. She was a member of Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a very active volunteer with various organizations in Henderson County.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Allen and her husband Don of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Mary Victoria Allen and Clifton Brandon Tate, both of Hendersonville; a brother, Lester S. Hodges and his wife Becky of Hendersonville; and a number of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 pm Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Ivan Blake officiating.
