Luther P. "Pete" Fain

February 15, 1926 - January 15, 2018

Luther P. “Pete” Fain, Jr., 91, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 15, 2018 after an extended illness. Pete was a son of the late Luther P. Fain, Sr. and Myrtle Rollins Fain. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert M. Fain. Pete was a Captain with the Hendersonville Police Department, retiring in 1987. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Rachel Flynn Fain; a son, Samuel K. Fain of Winston-Salem; a brother, David Fain and his wife JoAnn of Hendersonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Jones will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Council on Aging, 105 King Creek Blvd., Hendersonville, NC 28792 or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
