Lela Sue Dibble, 72, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Pardee Hospital following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. A native of Tennessee, she had resided in Henderson County for the last 25 years. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Alda Nelson and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gwen Duffie and Lynn James and her brother, J.B. Nelson.
Lela was employed as a tig welder with General Motors for 18 years prior to retiring with them and was a member of Barker Heights Baptist Church. She was a great cook and loved preparing dishes to share. Lela had a great fondness for the beach and was an avid country music fan. Her favorite artist was always Conway Twitty. Lela loved her family dearly and always cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
She is survived by her children, Tony McMurray, Biddie McMurray and Mike McMurray; grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Christopher, Lela and Austin McMurray; sister, Freda Trussel and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Barker Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Owens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
