Forest
Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park president Shuford Edmisten is building
the most complete funeral facility in the state. The bold new plan
affords a new 6,000 square foot building that will enable their customers
to never have to go elsewhere once they come to Forest Lawn.

"Over the years I have seen the problems created for Police and Sheriffs'
departments just trying to do their normal day-to-day jobs, and lead funeral
processions also." Edmisten says with the completion of the new Forest Lawn
facility... "there will no longer be a need for a procession unless the
deceased is being taken to another cemetery. Our new facility and existing chapel
will also enable us to seat over 200 people comfortably and still offer a smaller
reposing room for funerals with a more modest need."
Forest Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park is receiving publicity all over the mountains
as the most economical, yet professional facility available."When customers
see our prices for the entire funeral from casket to burial they wonder how we
can do it." Shuford further states, "we really do offer innovative
and affordable funeral services."
One other innovative approach that Forest Lawn has been quick to embrace makes
perfectly good sense. "We can actually have the funeral the evening of the
visitation since the guests are already here, and again it is more convenient
for the family.
Forest Lawn already operates a complete funeral home, but with the addition of
this new 6,000 square foot building, it will become the most modern in the area.
The designers of the new building have gone to great care to make sure it is
a customer friendly facility. Families will be able to go to one room in the
new building and gain all the information they need for planning or pre-planning
a funeral of any size.
Since opening in January 2004 Forest Lawn has provided full service funerals
to over 80 families who have chosen to use them as their provider for a quality
funeral. In addition, more than 100 others have pre-arranged their services with
Forest Lawn. Through 2005 and into 2006, Forest Lawn intends to climb to the
top of the ladder of successful funeral homes in the area. They hope, weather
permitting, to open the new facility by Veterans Day 2005.
"I'm so excited for our customers...they will never have to go anywhere
else to arrange their funeral services." Edmisten also says, "I am
also thrilled at the money we can save out customers. In this day and time of
economic hardships, at Forest Lawn it is very possible to see savings of $1,000
to $2,000 and more over other funeral homes' prices."
Forest Lawn Mortuary is located on the premises of Forest Lawn Memorial Park
and Mausoleum at 538 Tracy Grove Road in Hendersonville. For more information
